Texas International Pop Festival: Vinyl 2LP
Following the release of Led Zeppelinās first album in January 1969, the band toured frantically in the UK, Europe and North America ā where their debut had reached a respectable No. 10 position on the Billboard Chart. The bandās third US tour in the summer of ā69, between 5th July and 31st August, was exclusively made up of Festival Appearances, which included appearances at Newport, Atlanta and Seattle among others, but generally considered to be their finest performance of the tour came on the bandās last show of the tour at the Texas International Pop Festival, which took place at the Dallas International Motor Speedway, in Lewisville, TX, on 31st August. Performing mid-way through the second day of the festival, Led Zeppelin blew most of the competition off stage, including that dayās headline act Santana, performing just two weeks after their breakthrough set at Woodstock.
